How will the contest be judged?
How well does the entry fit the theme? Does the entry contain at least one of the girls? Is the entry relevent to the theme?
Are the girls in character? They all have likes, dislikes, and personalities. Have these traits been considered and incorporated into the entry?
Creativity and Originality
Don't be afraid to think outside the box and try new things. Unconventional ideas and details can really make an entry stand out.
Can I enter with a previously submitted deviation?
No. Your entry must have been made specifically for the current contest. You may not submit pictures uploaded before the start of the contest, or past contest entries, into the current contest's entry pool.
What are the 'Honorable mention' categories?
Those are decided and revealed after the contest ends. They are reserved for contest entries that left a particular impact on the judges. Past honorable mention categories have included: Most creative use of media, Most creative use of theme, Cutest concept, and Best use of traditions.
How old are your mascots?
Between 12 and 14 ('middle school')
What sort of things are in the 'Mystery Prize Box?'
Stickers, keychains, buttons, magnets, pins, gashapon figures and toys.
Items I pick up from fellow vendors at the various conventions I visit.
Do I have to draw your girls in a chibi style?
Not necessarily. Please use whatever style you are comfortable in.
You have other characters, can I choose one of them/include them in my entry?
Yes, but only if at least one of the main three are present.
Do I have to use all 3 girls in my contest entry?
You can use just 1, or 2 of them, or all 3.
Can I include my own OCs?
You are heavily discouraged from doing so.
Can I use a base?
Did you make it yourself? If not, then it's a collaboration piece and credit needs to be given to the base maker.
If I entered one of your contests in the past, can I enter this one?
Unless you have been blocked from my page, you may enter as many of my contests as you would like.
Are your contests free to enter?
There is no need to sign up, reserve a spot, or pay a fee.
Will you critique or comment on my entry so I can improve it?
1) I used to leave positive comments on every entry for every contest, but some people got mad because even though I commented on their piece, they did not win first prize. They accused me of leading them on. This is the sort of drama that I do not want associated with these contests.
2) I want to see what sort of thing you come up with using your own creativity and skills. If I leave a critique telling you what I don't like and want changed about the picture, then I am essentially tailoring the picture to win and possibly inhibiting your creative process.
Does my entry have to be in color?
Color is not necessary. Beautiful things can be made with a monochrome palette.
How many times can I enter?
There is no limit. You can enter as many times as you want, but quality counts over quantity.
However, one person may win only one place/prize. This includes honorable mentions (if active).
Can I use a stock background?
Using stock for backgrounds are okay as long as you provide credit to the owner and follow their rules.
Are collaborations allowed?
If an entry wins, for which more than one artist can claim credit, then the prizes will be sent to the artist that submits the entry. It will be up to the submitter to split the prizes among the pair/group that created the entry.
